Liberty Carvings has the capacity to lathe-turn wooden bowls up to 22″ in diameter, and can also make larger or specially-shaped bowls by hand. We offer a line of salad and fruit bowls in solid blocks of Nicaraguan ribboned hardwood or in glued-up kiln-dried Spanish Cedar. We usually finish our bowls with a varnish or oil finish to prevent the wood from splitting.

We provide the following finishes on our bowls:

• Polyurethane Varnish – Food safe and high gloss
• Pharmacy-grade Mineral Oil – Food safe and semi-gloss
• Custom Finishes – contact us with your specifications

Custom Carving & Finishing

We can provide hand-carved bowls in rectangular or oval shapes, with attached handles, feet, and more to create your custom design. We can carve patterns on the outside or inside of a turned bowl, like a fully gouge-marked surface. We can also paint the bowls before varnishing, with fine vines, flowers, etc., per your request.
