Faux bamboo furniture swept through Europe in the late 19th century, most often built in the slighter proportions of the era. The Newport Urn-Top draws on an English antique original, re-proportioned in our Rhode Island shop to fit today’s mattresses without losing the delicate character of the period. Each post is hand-turned in solid Spanish Cedar to echo the ringed nodes of bamboo, crowned with a turned urn finial, and framed around hand-selected Tiger Maple or Birdseye Maple panels. Built to heirloom standards and offered as a complete four-poster or as a headend only — one of the faux bamboo beds we have crafted for the trade for decades, made here, by us.
